Howdy! I am Haley Kokel, Owner and Operator of Fish On Aquatic Plants which is a native aquatic plant nursery. I have several varieties of submerged, emergent and floating leaved plants. I offer delivery and planting services for additional cost. Please contact me for a quote. Over time I will be expanding the selection of plants and services. I appreciate your patience while my business grows.

 

I am originally from Waldeck, Texas. My hobbies have always included fishing, gardening, photography, cooking and sewing. I was involved in activities through 4-H and FFA, but always enjoyed the outdoor projects most. I attended many 4-H summer fishing day camps as a participant and then as a teen leader. I participated and competed in the Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) through 4-H from 2002 to 2008. I also attended Texas Bass Brigade in 2008. WHEP and Bass Brigade were both big influences in deciding to pursue a career in wildlife and fisheries.

I have a Master's degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University. My research involved establishing native plants in Lake Raven, Texas and determining their resistance to herbicides and herbivory. I have also worked with Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) and Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). My work at TPWD included building a native aquatic plant nursery and establishing native aquatic plants in Texas lakes and reservoirs. At MDC, I built a native aquatic plant nursery and developed a plan for establishing the plants in a renovated lake. 

 

My husband, Colt along with our children, Bridget and Darren and I moved back to Texas in 2019 after living in Kansas for 5 years. I look forward to working in Texas again and providing you with native aquatic plants for your lake, pond, rain garden or water garden.
